About Poetry Shop

Christopher Sanderson and Kate Harrison facilitate the Louth Poetry Group, a monthly gathering of poets who meet, in a workshop environment, in the market town of Louth, capital of the beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds.

Publishing poetry pamphlets is a new altruistic venture which will allow Kate and Christopher to have the pleasure (and pain) of reading and presenting a new spread of poetry whilst also introducing Louth Poetry Group to a wider group of poets.

Christopher Sanderson is an engineer and part time poet and poetry workshop facilitator. For a sabbatical he successfully completed a year on the BA (Hons) Creative Writing course at University of Derby Buxton which he followed by graduating with an MA in Creative Writing from Nottingham Trent University.

Kate Harrison is a practicing nurse in the drug and alcohol rehabilitation service, she is a graduate in English Literature from Portsmouth University. Kate, although she wouldn't easily own it, is a poet, she writes with detail and clarity introducing her own style with a leaning towards prose.

Poetry is a wonderful pastime, but, except for the very few, poetry is not a route to fabulous financial wealth.

The site aims to strip out the costs associated with the normal routes to publication, there are no competition fees, nor postage costs for manuscripts.

The site is free but does need a continuous stream of poetry, we therefore seek poets who wish to join in with the spirit of sharing and sparing the cost.

We hope that you enjoy using this site and that you take part in both reading, submitting and commenting on poetry. If you have any suggestions for the free poetry pamphlets site please send your email to suggestions@poetryshop.co.uk
